Dannate Moto d'Annata, Genoa 2025

On Saturday, 10th May 2025 from 9:00 a.m., the elegant main entrance hall of Genoa's Palazzo Ducale will transform into a veritable open-air museum for all motoring and history enthusiasts, as it hosts the thirteenth edition of "Dannate Moto d'Annata". This event, which has become a well-established and eagerly awaited fixture in the Ligurian capital, celebrates the timeless beauty and allure of vintage motorbikes.

Originating back in 2010 from an idea by Maurizio Tacchi, the driving force behind Moto Club Genova, "Dannate Moto d'Annata" (affectionately meaning "Damned Vintage Motorbikes") was conceived to provide owners of historic vehicles with the opportunity to display their prized possessions locally. This overcame the difficulties associated with long journeys, which are often problematic for both the motorbikes and their owners. The name itself fondly evokes the joys and the charming quirks of these fascinating two-wheeled machines.

From modest beginnings, the event has seen a significant growth in interest and participation. The secret? It offers anyone who owns a beautiful historic motorbike the chance to see it displayed in a prestigious setting like the Palazzo Ducale – a true point of pride for exhibitors and a splendid spectacle for the public.

As with previous editions, a varied array of motorbikes is anticipated: from sports and touring models to off-road and military machines, not forgetting the iconic sidecars, Vespas, and Lambrettas. Each motorbike tells a story, and many have marked important chapters in Italy's history.

The day's programme:

• From 9:00 a.m.: Registration opens for participants, and motorbikes are positioned. All exhibitors will be given a voucher to enjoy a piece of traditional Genoese focaccia.
• Around 10:30 a.m.: A welcome to all participants, followed by official photographs.
• Around 12:30 p.m.: The exhibition concludes.

Admission to the event is free for everyone. For those wishing to participate by exhibiting their vintage motorbike, entry to Piazza de Ferrari should be made via Via Dante/Via Petrarca. Proceed along the left-hand side by the porticoes of the Palazzo della Regione, and enter the Palazzo Ducale with the engine switched off, using the designated external ramp. Approximately 40 motorbikes are expected, though this number may vary depending on the weather conditions.

"Dannate Moto d'Annata" is more than just an exhibition; it is a moment for sharing and celebrating a passion for vintage motorcycling. It's an opportunity to admire, up close, authentic masterpieces of engineering and design that continue to capture the imagination.
