III HISTORICAL RE-ENACTMENT

CIRCUITO DEL LARIO 2025 – May 31st - June 1st
ASI Golden Kickstart Award 2021 and 2023 -

Reserved for motorcycles built between 1921 and 1939. From an idea of the Moto Club Lombardo, in 1921 the Circuito del Lario was born. Defined the "Italian Tourist Trophy" for its difficulty, for 20 years it was undoubtedly the most challenging and important closed circuit race in Italian motorcycling.

CIRCUITO DEL LARIO 1921-1939

The motorcycle competition called CIRCUITO DEL LARIO was born in 1921 from an idea of Aldo Finzi, manager of the Moto Club Lombardo who was fascinated by the English Tourist Trophy and wanted to reproduce something similar on Italian territory. Begun quietly, on May 29, 1921 amidst general skepticism, on a sad rainy day, with its fifteen editions held between 1921 and 1939, the Circuito del Lario has met increasingly wide consensus throughout the world until it became the most important and challenging event in Italian motorcycling. The best riders of the time passed through the Lario school, Nuvolari, Varzi, the Ghersi brothers, Arcangeli, Ruggeri, Tenni, Serafini, Ascari, up to Nello Pagani. The advent of the war effectively blocks all sporting events, including the Circuito del Lario, which for years competed with the English Tourist Trophy for the fame of the toughest competition and with Monza for the primacy of motorcycle racing in Italy. Today, 104 years later, the club "Antiche Moto Brianza" federated with ASI (Automotoclub Storico Italiano) since 2003, is committed to re-proposing the third re-enactment of "Il Circuito del Lario" to enthusiasts as a tourist and cultural event, on the dates of Saturday, May 31 and Sunday, June 1, 2025. Reserved for motorcycles built before 1939, the year the war ended the race.

THE 2025 EDITION

For this edition we have thought of a special and evocative place immersed in the green heart of Brianza, a stone's throw from the roads where the original event took place. A real castle that will frame the two days and will be the meeting point and base of the event itself. A historical and fascinating location where we will also have a space reserved for the parking of support vehicles, we therefore look forward to seeing many of you at the Relais Castello di Casiglio Via Cesare Cantù, 21, 22036 Erba (CO) - www.hotelcastellodicasiglio.it
